What are the benefits of Finding Functional Foundations™ (FFF™)
- Neuroplasticity: FFF™ training provides a comprehensive neuroplasticity-based approach to treating alignment and movement dysfunctions. Retraining neuromotor control addresses the fundamental problem of joint instability.
- Functional: FFF™ shows how a functional foundation creates functional alignment, which creates functional movement and function. FFF™ integrates body awareness and self-assessment directly to function. The FFF™ approach empowers patients to optimize whole-body function.
- Holistic: FFF™ uses a kinesiopathological approach, identifying dysfunctional alignment and movement (kinesiology) that leads to pain and pathology. This holistic strategy helps people learn to use their bodies in ways that optimize function while avoiding pain and injury. This improves long-term management more than addressing individual symptoms using a ‘whack-a-mole’ approach.
- Biofeedback: FFF™ emphasizes biofeedback training to produce neuroplastic changes that allow people to gain confidence in their alignment and movement. Current research shows that incorporating biofeedback into motor control training improves outcomes.
- Evidence based: While the specific FFF™ exercises have not yet been researched, FFF™ is firmly based upon evidence-based practice principles of neuroplasticity, biofeedback, and postural training.
What are the benefits of (FFF™) certification?
- Knowledge: Obtaining Finding Functional Foundations (FFF) certification trains clinicians to provide a comprehensive neuroplasticity-based management approach for patients with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (hEDS/HSD). The FFF™ approach is also appropriate for many other patients with chronic pain and functional limitations.
- Recognition: FFF™ Certification provides recognition from an internationally respected team of HSD specialist clinician and educator/researcher so patients can be confident that their provider can effectively apply a comprehensive neuroplasticity-based treatment approach grounded in evidence-based principles.
- Community: Being certified gives providers:
- A network of likeminded professionals to learn from and with whom to exchange ideas.
- Access to regular Drop-In sessions where you can ask questions or present cases for feedback.
- Resources: Access to new and updated FFF™ patient handouts.
Marketing: Certification Includes your clinic information in a directory of FFF™ Certified Providers on the Finding Functional Foundations website. This helps patients find you.
